Wow! Luke and Noah are so in tune, which is just a gorgeous thing to read. Luke and Ethan make me laugh out loud - reminds me of me and my bad big brother! :-) What can I possibly say about Oreo and the kitten without getting tears in my eyes? A Different Kind of Family is gorgeous through and through, Sarah!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Stacey.. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and comment. You're a star :-)

Sarah this is sweet perfection. Noah's longing for family being fulfilled is one of my favorite themes and you've done it beautifully here. Happy New Year!

Bloody hell, Sarah. You broke my heart and then immediately mended it, all in the space of this perfect fic.
You. Are. Awesome.

“Where? Who the fuck’s been swearing around my kid brother?” Luke bit out. Ethan just looked at him, eyebrows raised, waiting for Luke to…
Lol um, its you Luke. Love that!
I loved this Sarah. It went from Noah by himself doubting to a snowball fight with family and then he finds a kitten that he desperately wants to save and with the help of his lil brother in law he does. So good Sarah.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and commenting. Glad you liked it :-)

This is lovely, Sarah. Teenage Ethan! Love his interactions with Luke there. And ah, the whole found family analogy with the kitten and Oreo. I'm super impressed with Ethan. Yes, animals will so adopt others just like that. Lovely. Thank you & happy new years to you!
Author's Response: Thank you. So glad you liked it. Happy 2016 to you, too.

I forgot to say how much I love Oreo's name. I see what you did there. You know how much I love Oreos!
Author's Response: It was just a lucky guess. Maybe we should call the kitten Twinky?

Ah Sarah, Sarah, Sarah!! This is just perfect - but that doesn't surprise me, it's what I've come to expect from you!
You have three of my favourite characters here and you've depicted them spot on. I also love seeing Ethan add a teenager!
I love your descriptive style, it makes me feel like I'm right there in the scene with them.
Oreo nursing the little kitten makes the perfect analogy of what matters in family - it's not how it's made up its the love between them that counts.
Wonderful Sarah! I couldn't have asked for anything better! Reading this is such an excellent start to the New Year!
THANK YOU! ! XX
Author's Response: Aw, Anne, you always say something wonderful. Your prompts were so good, this came to me almost immediately. Of course, you know me...I couldn't possibly write it straight away :-)

This is beautifully written, but what else is new where you're concerned? :)
The metaphor for unexpected family love and nurturing which comes through from the vulnerable kitten nursing from Oreo is just perfection-it's a really profound metaphor that really cuts right to the heart of what family can be and how much people miss when they trumpet a very narrow view of it.
I also loved seeing Ethan depicted as a teenager here. I haven't seen that before, but I really enjoyed the dynamic among the three boys.
Happy New Year, Sarah! Thank you for this delightful holiday treat! :)
Author's Response: As always, Jim, you know exactly what to say. Thank you x

that was SO!CUTE! I loved teenage Ethan targeting his big brother and Luke just knowing what Noah needed. I need a follow up though on the boys adopting the kitten.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and commenting, Bijou. I really appreciate it.

Aaaawwww totally adorable Sarah! With a level of wit from Luke thrown in..made me lol
This story had it all! Noah's reaction was spot on and kudos for his husband seeking him out and just knowing.
Love Ethan in this also! Kittens and puppies and nuke loveliness all wrapped up in one huge hug.
Love it!! Xxx
Author's Response: You're always so good to me, Louise. Thank you xxx
